Research Observatory

 

The Research Observatory of the Università del Salento is composed of three members, nominated by the Academic Senate and proposed by the faculty of the three main sectors- Scientific-Technology, Humanities, and Law-Economics, and the President.

The activity of the Observatory is focused on surveying, analyzing, and assessing the scientific activity of the university and consequently, creating useful guidelines to help, maintain and improve the quality, and in particular, the distribution of funding resources.

Consequently, the Observatory periodically updates criteria and  parameters for the analysis and evaluation of  the on-going reseach carried out at the university. The Research Registry Office is a fundamental instrument of the Observatory as it is focused on recording the indicated tasks.
 
Evaluation of the scientific activity includes the following aspects:
- capacity to attract resources
- PhD courses
- involvement between university researchers and international/national institutions that carries out activity which addresses and promotes research
- development of cultural scientific initiatives
- scientific publications
- excellence of achieved results
The results of the Observatory’s activity are published.

Catalog of research production  
The Catalogue of research products from the Università del Salento contains the scientific production done by its researchers. This applied program, developed by Cineca, in collaboration with our university and other Italian universities, under the scope of the project U-GOV, substitutes the existing Research Registry Office.
